A bull elk in Estes Park, Colorado, is back in the woods thanks to the efforts of two men and a pickup.
Chase Rylands, a wildlife officer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife answered the call of an elk stuck in a swimming pool. Assisted by Skylar Watson, a member of the Estes Park Police Department, the two men attached a rope to the bull’s antlers, pulled and eventually used a pickup to lead it to the steps and out of the water.
Ironically enough, this incident marks the second time Officer Rylands assisted the same bull. Two years earlier, he tranquilized the elk so he could remove netting and rope tightly wound around its antlers, head, nose and mouth.
