A mountain lion attacked a man in northwest Colorado as he was afield scouting for elk. It happened at about nine o’clock on August 10, 2019.
According to KCNC-TV, the man said he saw spotted the mountain lion and then walked slowly backwards for about 200 yards. He accidently tripped and fell and the lion jumped on him. He grabbed his pocketknife and used it to scare the animal away.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials tracked the animal the next day and killed it.
A CPW spokesman said the man did the right thing by not running away but slowly backing away and remain facing the mountain lion.
