A mountain lion feasting on a bull elk on the National Elk Refuge is drawing quite a crowd. A photo on Instagram and shared on other social media platforms is giving onlookers a rare chance to witness a predator rarely seen.
“We took it as an opportunity to provide some on-the-spot interpretation,” Lori Iverson, refuge spokeswoman, told the Jackson Hole News & Guide. “It’s such unique opportunity to be able to see a mountain lion for such an extended period.”
Because the big cat continues to return to the site, refuge staff is doing its best to keep traffic moving through the area.
