Elk NetworkMinam River Volunteer Project- An RMEF Film

General , RMEF Films | August 27, 2024

Just a few years ago, it was private land but today it’s now publicly owned. The 15,500-acre Minam River Wildlife Area in northeast Oregon is the last remaining swath of elk winter range in the region not impacted by development. And its wildlife habitat is getting even better.

Follow along as nearly 100 Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and other volunteers return to the Minam to remove encroaching conifers from overcrowded aspen stands, plant shrubs for forage and take other steps to enhance habitat for elk, mule deer, wild turkey, other wildlife species all while increasing hunting opportunity.
