Estes Park, Colorado, is “elk central USA,” especially in the fall during the height of mating season. Scores of elk flood into town and roam the streets and sidewalks.
Unfortunately, one over aggressive bull had to be put down by wildlife officials after it attacked two different women on two separate occasions. One of them was watching a group of cow elk while the other was attacked from behind while jogging less than one hour later. Both had to be rushed to a hospital.
“I did hear a woman crying, a woman screaming,” Andrea Garcia, a nearby resident, told CBS News.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) previously tagged the elk and said it had a history of aggression. In light of the two women being gored and for the sake of public safety, CPW euthanized it.
