The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is seeking public comment on a proposal to increase cougar hunting permits by six percent. If approved, the number would increase from 531 to 565.
“Utah’s cougar population has plenty of females in it and plenty of adults too,” said Darren DeBloois, DWR game mammals coordinator . “For those reasons, we’re recommending a slight permit increase for the 2017–2018 season.”
