“Watching her get that bird. Watching the emotions flow out of your child absolutely touches your heart,” a father said after seeing his daughter take a pheasant.
The father-daughter duo was among several participants at a recent youth pheasant hunt in Colorado, hosted by Rocky Mountain Roosters and supported by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and other hunting and conservation groups.
“Partnerships are crucial to the future of programs like this and essential to the future of conservation. That’s why it’s so cool to see so many organizations come together in partnership today to provide that exposure to youth in the outdoors, especially to those who haven’t had exposure to hunting and fishing,” said Luke Wiedel, RMEF volunteer. “Hunting and fishing fund conservation and so it’s absolutely essential that we get youth involved in that.”
Colorado Parks and Wildlife also showed the video to the CPW Commission at its early May meeting.
