Ideas Worth Sharing: Winner Take All Raffle
Submitted by Steve Bird, Maryland State Chair
Every chapter has stuff leftover after a banquet that they don’t know what to do with. You could always use it as a door prize for your next banquet, but why not try a Winner Take All raffle?
First, select a gun and a print to include in the raffle as eye catchers. Then add any small donated items or RMEF items you really don’t know what to do with. Stuff like RMEF shirts, donated shirts, hats, suspenders, last year’s RMEF glasses, anything that can’t stand alone in a raffle. Things that would normally be a door prize can go on the table.
The first year the Maryland Chapter did this raffle we brought in $3,000, second only to the general raffle. As we grew, the raffle grew. Last year the raffle included a gun safe, rifle, pistol, print, bronze, archery target, goose decoys, blankets, candy, etc. We sold $8,000 worth of tickets. We sell one ticket for $10, three for $20, nine for $50, and for $100 we’ll “rock your world” as we like to say. We brought in about 40 $100 bills from attendees.
Chapters that don’t use this raffle are missing out. Give it a try!
