Less than two weeks after Yellowstone National Park issued a warning about the aggressiveness shown by cow elk during the calving season, a woman working in Yellowstone suffered injuries from a cow elk.
According to a report in the Billings Gazette, details are yet to be released but it happened on May 29 in Mammoth Hot Springs. Officials at Banff National Park in Canada recently closed part of the park to give cows and newborn calves alike more room.
The elk calving season usually stretches from the middle of May until the end of June.
