Below is a Facebook post from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police. For 2023-2025, Fiocchi partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching.

WDFW Police are seeking assistance from the community to solve an elk poaching that occurred on Sunday, November 19th. Early in the morning WDFW dispatch received a report from a deer hunter who had come across a bull elk which appeared to have been shot earlier that morning. The incident occurred on DNR ground off Casey Road just north of Castle Rock. Officer Blaine Corey responded and found a large bull with a single gunshot wound. No meat or other parts had been taken from the bull. Officer Corey and Sergeant Anderson worked to salvage as much of the meat as possible for later donation.

We ask that anyone who has any information surrounding this incident to call WDFW Enforcement at 877-933-9847, online, or text or send photos to WDFWTIP at TIP411 (847411).
