Matt Toyn (second from left in photo) made it to the top of the peak in 2018. He was crowned champion of the men’s division at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s 2018 World Elk Calling Championships. Now, he wants to go one step higher and face off against the professionals.
“Yes, you can elect to do the pros,” Toyn told cachevalleydaily.com. “The pros are typically reserved for those that are sponsored by elk calling companies or who own a company. But you can elect to do it, and I think I’m going to give it a go this year.”
Tackling the pro division means possibly facing off against reigning champion Corey Jacobsen, among others. Jacobsen is a nine-time champion and widely considered among the best elk callers on earth.
