Thanks to 6,932,602 votes or 67 percent of the overall vote, residents in Florida approved a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to hunt and fish. By doing so, Florida is the 24th state to approve such a measure.
Wildlife that may be hunted in Florida includes whitetail deer, wild hogs, ducks, quail and other species.
States that previously approved constitutional right to hunt and fish amendments include Utah, North Carolina, Indiana, Kansas, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Idaho, Kentucky, Nebraska, Wyoming, Arkansas, Arizona, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia, Louisiana, Montana, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Virginia, Minnesota and Alabama. Vermont is the only state with the right to hunt and fish in its original constitution.
California and Rhode Island have right to fish amendments but not the right to hunt.
