Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) urges elk hunters in the northern San Luis Valley of southern Colorado to give their thoughts on elk management for the area. CPW plans to unveil updates to its elk and deer management plans.
“In developing these plans CPW always reaches out to the public, including landowners, sportsmen, outfitters, business owners and anyone who is interested in deer and elk in the SLV to attend meetings and offer input,” Rick Basagoitia, CPW area wildlife manager, told the Valley Courier. “These big-game species are an important public resource and CPW intends to manage them for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
A public meeting will take place on July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Saguache County Road and Bridge office, 305 3rd Street in Saguache. Go here for more information.
