MISSOULA, Mont. — Strengthening a relationship that dates back more than two decades, Les Schwab Tire Centers donated $174,000 worth of new tires to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

“This is an extremely generous gift that we will use to advance our mission of ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage. To the Les Schwab team, we say ‘Thank you,’” said Riza Lesser, RMEF managing director of marketing and communications.

The ‘RMEF Ready Your Elk Rig Tire Drawing’* consists of a set of four tires, the Back Country A/T2, that will be available at 116 RMEF big game banquets in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

“As a service-oriented organization with 71 years of history in the West, we understand the importance of conserving both our natural spaces and our heritage,” said Greg L’hommedieu, Les Schwab vice president, store sales and operations. “We’re impressed with the work RMEF does to encourage environmental stewardship and conservation in our community and are proud to support their ongoing conservation efforts.”

Since 2002, Les Schwab helped RMEF raise more than $2.9 million to conserve or enhance more than 18,000 acres of elk habitat. With a headquarters in Bend, Oregon, the company has more than 500 locations across western portions of the United States.

Each raffle/drawing winner will be able to size the tires to his or her specific vehicle.

The Back Country A/T2 updated everything great about its previous generation of Back Country all-terrain tires and made them even better. That includes the latest tire construction and compound technology. Built for light trucks, SUVs and crossover utility vehicles, these tires are at home on the highway and dirt roads. While the Back Country A/T2 offers performance on and off-road, they’re also quiet, utilizing the latest noise-reducing tread block grooves that break up and dampen road noise.

*Additional details and drawing/raffle regulations will be available from the select RMEF chapters.
